Help Save Manassas has started a project to document what we believe are felony violations of state and federal law resulting from the employment of illegal aliens at day labor sites in Prince William County.  It is a federal felony to employ illegal aliens, and a state felony to hire unlicensed contractors to perform work in home remodeling or other construction tasks.  Help Save Manassas members are taking photos and video of persons hiring day laborers for the purpose of turning this evidence over to state and federal law enforcement authorities.

If you would like to assist in this project, please contact us.  We will be documenting activity at several sites in the county during weekday and weekend mornings when volunteers are available.  The more volunteers we have, the better coverage of these sites we can maintain.

Day laborer sites encourage the presence of illegal aliens by providing them with a ready means of obtaining unlawful employment. Day laborer sites harm local businesses, create unsafe conditions for residents, and are a blight of litter, public urination, and the destruction of landscaping. Several day labor sites are active in our area, and Help Save Manassas is obtaining documentation about these sites so that our elected officials can be made aware of the true scope of this problem.

Manassas City

Due to effective enforcement of loitering laws, Manassas City does not appear to have any day laborer sites.

Manassas Park

Manassas Park has one day laborer site adjacent to the police station, which keeps this problem somewhat under control.

Prince William County

Prince William County has multiple informal day laborer sites because the county police department refuses to enforce loitering laws and is generally unresponsive to business owners who ask for police assistance in restoring order at their business locations. Here is a partial list of those day laborer sites that we are keeping an eye on:

Help Save Manassas Crime Prevention Team

Help Save Manassas has started to actively monitor these day laborer sites during both weekdays and weekends to collect evidence of unlawful activity and provide that evidence to the following agencies:

All persons who pick up a day laborer have their license plate and identifying information about themselves and their vehicle recorded, and that information is provided to the appropriate agencies above.

IF YOU INVITE A DAY LABORER INTO YOUR VEHICLE, YOU WILL BE RECORDED AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED.  STATE AND/OR FEDERAL AGENCIES MAY DETERMINE THAT PROBABLE CAUSE EXISTS TO PROSECUTE YOU FOR FELONY VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW.
